Concierge Manager and 5x Concierges to manage prestigious portfolio of residences in London
The Challenge
One of the UK’s most established real estate companies, with a strong focus on residential property development and management, was looking to hire a Head Concierge and team of Concierges to cover their prestigious squares in London.
Brought about because of a restructure and to take on the management of new residences, the client’s HR team was tasked to double the current concierge offering and needed the Concierge Manager to come in urgently as the merge between the concierge team and the property management team was taking up time for the other senior staff members.
The Concierge Manager was a brand-new opening within the team and department, that would be required to develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) and training. They needed to have high-end residential experience as well as a hospitality background, be able to handle high-profile clients whilst having the ability to oversee maintenance and manage external service providers. Within the business, they’d be coming in to merge a gap between the concierge team and the property management team, managing a team of long-standing concierges whose roles were going to be changing as part of the restructure – recognised as a potentially tough part of the role.
The solution
As the client didn’t have an abundance of knowledge in the residential space, they needed a recruitment agency to support. Cobalt was enlisted as their dedicated, exclusive recruitment partner for the vacancies due to our vast network and understanding of their business from previous recruitment mandates. By working exclusively on the roles, we could prioritise them and present them to the market without overlap across other positions.
Candidates for the Concierge Manager role were directly headhunted based on their experience and screened according to the criteria the client was looking for above. The team mainly did this through their expansive direct networks on LinkedIn, and through premium adverts placed on the most relevant job boards for residential management roles.
For the Concierges, we used our vast database as well as LinkedIn to source candidates with the high-end residential experience required, that would be able to commit to the unique working pattern and duties of the square of properties.
For both roles, we had screening calls with all potential candidates, followed by a Teams video call, recommending those that qualified to shortlists with the client. For the Concierge Manager role, we made sure that there was a third stage of screening in-person too, to ensure they were the ideal fit for the company for this vitally important position.

We were delighted to place all 6 roles with the client, including the tricky Concierge Manager position.
