About the Role

Cobalt is working with a leading construction company to recruit a Site Engineer for their UK operations with the main priority being a site in Kent to begin with but most projects are North London & the Home Counties. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects, delivering complex construction programmes to the highest standards.

The Role

As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering works on time and to specification. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting out for line and level on-site, ensuring compliance with design drawings.
  • Overseeing engineering requirements and coordinating subcontractor work.
  • Managing materials, requisitions, and plant requirements.
  • Ensuring quality control through Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and check sheets.
  • Implementing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Engaging with designers, specialists, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, including 'as-built' documentation and waste tracking.
  • Working with piling teams to ensure accuracy and compliance in groundworks and foundation construction.

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in site engineering within construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract specifications and construction methodologies.
  • Ability to lead, coordinate, and supervise teams, including subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in setting out, quality control, and health & safety compliance.
  • Knowledge of BIM Level 2 principles and digital asset management.
  • Familiarity with specialist project software such as 4Projects.
  • Proven experience working with piling and foundation construction.
