Job Title - Assistant Project Planner

Location - Manchester

Project - Commercial / Education / Public

The Role / Client

Cobalt is currently working with a tier-one contractor looking to bring an assistant planner into their successful planning department based in Manchester. The right candidate could be a site manager or project manager looking to move into the Project Planning world. This role will see you working alongside one of London's top senior planners and working on a one-on-one basis.

Main principles and tasks

To assist the Construction Planners and site teams with the preparation and alteration of programmes

  • To assist the Construction Planners and site teams with the preparation and alteration of logistics plans

  • To record, prepare and distribute the site water and electrical consumption figures required to obtain code for sustainable homes points.

  • To assist in the preparation of reports and submission documents.

  • To maintain the programme issue records and ensure that all relevant people have a copy of the most up to date programme.

  • To carry out site Progress audits and ensure reporting in accurate.

  • To help prepare the and monitor the site production schedules.

  • To visit site and obtain feedback from site so as to improve programme accuracy going forward.

  • To assist in preparing progress and unit delivery forecast reports.

  • To aid in the preparation of progress reports for divisional board meetings and visit site as necessary to compile the required progress information.

Key skill sets required

  • Experience in either Asta power projects or Primavera P6

  • Good communication skills

  • Good organisational skills

  • Self motivated and able to work unsupervised

  • Willing to learn and take guidance

  • Some site experience
