Job Opportunity: Senior Planner to Associate, Leeds

A leading planning consultancy, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Planner to join their dynamic team in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the continued growth and success of a well-respected company in the planning industry.

 

About the Role: As a Senior Planner, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a range of planning services, working on projects that span various sectors, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. They will be responsible for providing expert planning advice, preparing and submitting planning applications, and working closely with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on planning policy, applications, and regulations.
  • Manage and mentor junior planners, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Work with clients to identify project requirements and opportunities, offering innovative planning solutions.
  • Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure projects progress smoothly.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in planning regulations and advise clients accordingly.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field (MRTPI qualification is desirable).
  • A proven track record of working in planning, with experience in managing a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Strong understanding of planning policy and legislation, with a focus on the UK planning system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting junior staff.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with a passion for planning and development.
