Job Title - Senior Project Planner

Location - Manchester

Salary - Up to £90,000 plus package

Cobalt are working with Tier one contractor that have an opportunity for a Senior Planner to play a pivotal role in delivering world-class construction projects. As a Senior Planner, you will support our management team with the planning and programming of design, procurement, and construction activities. You'll lead programme and planning management during preconstruction and construction phases, ensuring seamless execution and reporting on progress and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular programme updates to the Regional Planner, ensuring alignment and accuracy on a weekly and monthly basis.

  • Conduct professional development plans (PDPs) with assistant planners, driving their growth and performance.

  • Lead and coordinate planning and programme management tasks in both preconstruction and site phases.

  • Assess programme and contract entitlements, working closely with the management team to coordinate outputs.

  • Deliver detailed programme reporting weekly and monthly, feeding into contract review meetings.

  • Drive excellence and efficiency in project planning, ensuring all phases of construction are aligned with project goals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant degree or diploma in construction, engineering, or a related field.

  • Advanced proficiency in Asta Powerproject, including Progress Analysis and S-Curve reporting.

  • Advanced Primavera P6 training with a focus on cost and resource management.

  • Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract, with advanced contract awareness.

  • Experience in large-scale construction projects; stadium experience is highly desirable.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK and EU legal frameworks, particularly in contract management.

Current Project Highlights

  • Adding 7,900 seats to the North Stand, increasing stadium capacity to nearly 62,000.

  • Constructing a nine-storey hotel, an eight-storey office building, and public realm space.

  • Delivering a cutting-edge sky bar and a roof walk experience as part of the North Stand's new upper tier.

  • Expected completion of the North Stand in the 2025/26 football season, with additional facilities ready by late 2026.
