Due to continuous growth, our client is looking for a Service Charge Accountant to join their team being responsible for all estate management and service charge responsibilities. The ideal person for this opportunity will have a strong history working across residential properties on the landlord/ client side for a real estate business. This role will be working 4 days in the head office and 1 day working from home however flexibility is offered along with clear career progression.
Responsibilities:
Support building managers in preparing service charge budgets and ensuring timely and accurate input into the property management system to meet client and internal reporting deadlines.
Prepare service charge reconciliations, ensuring accounts are completed and delivered on time, aligned with client expectations.
Issue quarterly service charge demands promptly and efficiently.
Perform reconciliations and process recharges for tenant direct recoveries.
Conduct monthly reviews of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Uphold best practices by adhering to RICS/ARMA service charge guidelines, ensuring compliance and consistency.
Requirements:
Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of service charge accounting are essential. Expertise in managing large, complex residential or estate service charges is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills
Able to work under pressure and use own initiative when needed
Ability to build strong working relationships across the organisation, both internally and externally.
