We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Client Accountant that's located within the heart of London's West End, working alongside one of Cobalt's longstanding clients. This role is with a specialised managing agent, where you will play a crucial role in handling a variation of portfolios whilst working as part of a team to deal with the accountancy of client and tenant funds.

Duties:

  • Handle billing for service charges, rents, voids, recharges, credits, and insurance charges to tenants, occupiers, or clients. Prepare completion statements, rent reviews, interest calculations, and financial reports including owner statements, VAT reports and cash flows.

  • Provide client accounting leadership, support asset management strategies, and align with client objectives. Facilitate the onboarding and offboarding process for new instructions.

  • Update and maintain property, lease, and occupier data on Property Management Systems. Monitor compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies, including RICS and ISO standards.

  • Produce, reconcile, and analyse year-end service charges in line with RICS guidelines.

  • Prepare annual service charge cash reconciliations and assist with service charge budgeting.

  • Manage monthly reconciliations and analyses of client and tenant deposit bank accounts, addressing outstanding issues and backlogs. Oversee supplier payments, prepare funding requests, and manage client payments and tenant refunds.

  • Ensure smooth transitions and handovers for new or outgoing instructions to relevant external parties.

Person Specification:

  • Prior experience of working within a similar function within Property/Real estate

  • Property management system such as Qube, TRAMPS, Horizon, Yardi etc

  • Experience working on either a commercial or residential portfolio

  • Experience speaking with landlords and tenants, and dealing with their queries

  • Strong attention to detail and being self-motivated

  • Committed and organised

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages

  • Ability to work to deadlines
