Cobalt is working with global consultancy that are looking for a Planning Manager to join the dynamic Civil Works Alliance (CWA) team and play a pivotal role in the groundbreaking Sizewell C Project. Sizewell C is a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station that will generate clean, low-carbon electricity for 6 million homes, shaping the UK's energy future for the next 60 years.
As Senior Planning Manager, you will work closely with the Planning Lead and wider teams to deliver, coordinate, and monitor project schedules. You will focus on the Conventional Island structures, ensuring quality, efficiency, and strategic delivery across this vital project area.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain project programs in alignment with objectives.
Establish logical construction strategies and sequences.
Analyze project performance and recommend improvements.
Train, mentor, and support team members to foster career development.
Coordinate with stakeholders, partners, and supply chains for time-critical information.
Provide progress updates, highlight issues, and drive solutions.
Define resource requirements and ensure alignment with internal teams.
Represent the project in meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in senior-level planning on large-scale civil engineering projects.
Expertise in Primavera P6 and advanced project controls.
Knowledge of reinforced concrete works and construction programming.
Desirable:
Membership with CIOB/MICE.
Experience in 4D/Synchro Modelling.
Ability to manage complex civil works programs.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
High attention to quality, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize urgent tasks.
