Part-time Associate Client Accountant
Birmingham + Hybrid working
Up to £52,000 DOE
We're seeking for a dedicated individual to join a vibrant Property Asset Management team, where you'll take charge of monthly financial reporting while delivering indispensable support to partners in maintaining client relationships on a part-time basis.
Ideally you'll be working 2-3 days a week alongside another part-time individual and other full time team members.
You'll closely collaborate with a specialised client-focused group that includes partners, associates, client accountants, and other experts. In this vital role, you'll manage accounts across three distinct portfolios for a specific client. Your responsibilities encompass day-to-day client accounting, with a particular emphasis on month-end reporting. Engage in regular client meetings to address accounting concerns and ensure seamless communication within the team to meet client demands effectively.
In this role, you'll engage with a diverse array of properties spanning Commercial, Residential, and Rural sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Excel in diverse client reporting formats, including management accounts.
Prepare client statements and aligned reports according to client KPIs.
Confidently participate and present in client meetings.
Manage tax reporting and submissions to HMRC (CIS, VAT, NRL).
Handle trial balances, quarterly and monthly management accounts.
Oversee distribution of rental income and cash balances.
Initiate funding requests.
Issue rent and service charge demands.
Administer database and lease management.
Foster effective interactions with clients and tenants.
Contribute to tax accounting.
Undertake quarterly VAT reporting, and if required, submit MTD VAT to HMRC.
Provide monthly CIS reports.
Conduct reviews of service charges and perform cash reconciliations.
Supervise void liabilities and caps.
Manage demised utility income, including reconciliation.
Analyse budget variances.
Collaborate with third-party auditors.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proficiency in MRI Horizon or a similar property management system such as Yardi/TRAMPS/Qube etc
Familiarity with Proactis.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Proven experience as an Associate Client/Management Accountant or Senior Client Accountant in a similar environment.
Essential experience in Real Estate & Agency.
