We are seeking an inspirational and competent Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to lead the transformation of HSE governance and compliance for a prominent organization's office portfolio. This role will primarily focus on UK-based operations, with oversight of smaller locations across Europe and a few serviced offices globally.
You will play a key role in developing a management system approach, aligning the organization with external accreditations such as ISO:14001, ISO:45001, and ISO:50001. Additionally, you will contribute to environmental and sustainability initiatives, driving carbon reduction and supporting the organization's NetZero commitments in line with global strategies.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the HSE function within the Facilities team, supporting local Office/Facilities Managers to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.
Acting as the regional HSE subject matter expert, providing expert advice, support, and consultation across the business.
Achieving and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System accreditations (ISO:14001/ISO:45001) in alignment with global initiatives.
Driving the environmental and sustainability program, including carbon reduction strategies and NetZero commitments, in line with the broader business strategy.
Managing and governing third-party HSE-related services (e.g., Occupational Health, ergonomic services), ensuring value for money and contractual compliance.
Conducting risk assessments, regular audits, and ensuring non-conformities are addressed to foster continuous improvement.
Developing and implementing technologies, systems, processes, and policies to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and legislation at the regional level.
Leading HSE-related communications, engagement, and reporting, including detailed updates for executives and external stakeholders as required.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience in a high-profile Facilities or Corporate office environment, with a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification and expertise in ISO:45001 management systems. A strong understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, experience developing safety practices, and familiarity with ISO:14001, ISO:50001, ESOS, and environmental reporting are essential. Proficiency in audits, project management, and integrated systems development is required, along with knowledge of HSE technologies, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach. Line management, team development, and delivering in-house training, including train-the-trainer programs, are also key.
