My client is seeking an experienced ESG Manager to join their global occupier services team. The appointed candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainability programs for a key client, helping them achieve their ambitious environmental, social, and governance goals.

The ESG Manager will take the lead on developing the client's sustainable portfolio management strategies across their regional and global real estate operations.

To seamlessly deliver sustainability programs and achieve targets, you will work closely with the account team including transaction managers, lease administrators, estate managers, vendors, strategic partners, and other service suppliers across the client account team. You will also be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting sustainability performance for their leased portfolio, as necessary. Finally, you will also monitor and report key sustainability trends globally to support continuous improvement of the client's sustainability program. Key duties will include:

  • Develop and execute sustainability strategies for the client's real estate portfolio, working collaboratively with stakeholders to successfully implement programs and initiatives to reach client's objectives.

  • Prioritize embedding sustainability considerations into all portfolio management processes from site selection to transaction execution to measurement and improvement of sustainability performance.

  • Track, analyze, and report on global sustainability metrics for lease contracts, including energy, water, waste, and other ESG metrics. Report internally and externally on sustainability initiatives and metrics, including ESG compliance reporting.

  • Develop and implement appropriate governance to structure for program, including communications on sustainability strategies, plans, and progress towards goals.

  • Maintain awareness of global sustainability trends, tools and metrics, and support the integration of sustainability best practices into client's sustainability program.

  • Access current sustainability policies and processes, identifying gaps to industry best practice and drive improvement including drafting new policies.

  • Develop community engagement and outreach programs aligned with the client's sustainability goals.

  • Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on sustainability topics and requests.

  • Manage team of experienced sustainability professionals. Lead, direct, and review the work of team members to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work products. Responsible for talent development, including day-to-day supervision, coaching and development, training, and performance management.

Degree qualified with an appropriate subject such as environmental science, engineering, climate change or sustainability, candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of working in corporate sustainability, ESG or consulting with management responsibility. Having worked with financial services clients or within a financial services occupier would be advantageous. A broad understanding of sustainability program management within the real estate sector is required along with a with deep expertise in the following:

  • Benchmarking

  • Sustainability strategies and programs

  • Climate risk and mitigation

  • Sustainable portfolio management strategies and programs

  • Sustainability and ESG reporting
