Cobalt Recruitment are working with an excellent NHS organisation in the North West to recruit a permanent Energy Manager, paying £50,000-£58,000 per annum depending on experience.
The successful candidate will be the lead specialist responsible for developing and driving forward sustainability and energy programmes. They will strive to improve performance and meet local and national targets whilst ensuring the cost-effective purchase of utility supplies and provide technical interpretation from internal and external sources.
The Energy Manager role is a vital component of the organisation's strategy to manage its sustainability targets and environmental impacts whilst providing consistently high-quality services to patients and value for money to the taxpayer, in addition to ensuring that sustainability is underpinned across the organisation.
You will work closely with the Estates team to promote energy efficiency and will act as the "operational interface" to ensure that the Trust's Carbon Reduction Strategy is fully implemented and meets internal and external energy and utility targets.
You will have/be:
A degree level education in Energy, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering along with experience or further study in this area.
Energy management and sustainability management experience in a large organisation (NHS experience is desirable).
Experience in delivery of financial savings and carbon reduction.
Experience of undertaking research and carrying out surveys.
Experience in preparation of reports.
Experience in design or maintenance of Engineering services.
Ability to present to all levels of the organisation.
Strong knowledge and experience of analysing data and presentation of findings.
Strong knowledge of Carbon reduction requirements.
Ability to demonstrate practical methods of reducing energy use, reducing carbon emissions and improving sustainability.
Innovative and proactive personal qualities.
Good oral & written communication skills.
