Our client is a market-leading boutique consultancy, specialising in Economic Development, overseeing high profile projects in London and across the UK. This team sits across planning and development teams, being fed work from both, working closely with both, and assisting with consultancy advice in general for major developments for the public and private sectors, including schemes in regeneration, NSIP and energy.

With the team growing, this role is key to support the future of the business and is part of a very meritocratic and ambitious business where the right person will thrive. In terms of background, our client is open to public sector or private sector - within an economic or economic development role - with the interest to move into this kind of role.

Examples of projects you would be working on include: a need and economic impact assessment for a major data centre site, a socio-economic impact assessment for a major Central London community site; optimisation of a masterplan through socio-economic advice, funding strategy and business case for a university.

Your will:

  • You will be working on a mix of work across socio-economics, case making, economic strategy and masterplanning, social value work and data visualization work.

  • Look at broader issues related to Economic Development and "big picture thinking".

  • Deal with socio-economic chapters for EIA projects, health and EqIA's, modelling.

  • Put cases together for Economic Impact Assessment, HMT Green Book business cases, and funding bids.

  • Do development and local need assessments, options appraisals, social investment strategies and evaluation of Social Value programmes.

You will ideally:

  • Have at least two years of experience.

  • Have a degree in Planning, Geography or Economics.

  • Understand socio-economic impacts to real estate and regeneration and a have a keen interest in Economic Development.

  • Be a good team player as well as being independent.

  • Have excellent communication, written, numerical and data analytics skills.
