Head Office in Central London and sites visits within M25.

Salary £40,000 - £65,000 per annum.

Cobalt has the pleasure of working exclusively on a client-side Assistant Development Manager opportunity with an impressive, international investment and development business. This UK arm of a leading Property Investment Firm acquires and develops property across the student accommodation, residential, hospitality, commercial and industrial sectors across London.

Due to an increase in acquisitions and progression to the development phases of their assets, our client is looking to bring on board a talented individual to work closely with the Development Director and support in the delivery of projects from planning through to project completion, responsible for coordinating contracts, administration, stakeholder management and reporting, ensuring successful delivery to time, cost and quality constraints. Projects include new build, refurbishment, conversion, and refit on their new and existing properties.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager or Assistant Development Manager that has experienced life in consultancy or client-side environment that is looking for more autonomy and exposure to the development life-cycle in a client-side environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Estimation and Contract Management.

  • Understand CAD software to modify drawings.

  • Manage and monitor on site (and hold site meetings).

Development Management:

  • Running feasibility studies

  • Choosing the best construction approach

  • Writing project briefs

  • Professional team appointments

  • Management of the professional team through RIBA Stages 1-4

  • Management of the tender process

  • Running feasibility studies for new projects to determine the most profitable business plan

  • Assisting the rest of the team with refurb/capex assumptions for new projects

  • Undertaking and analysing technical due diligence around a new deal

Project Management Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Construction related degree

  • Working knowledge of administering contracts

  • Excellent communications skills.

  • Ability to work independently and part of the wider business

  • A good decision maker and ability to use your own initiative.
