Are you looking for a change in scene or more variety in the work you are doing at the moment, to advance your career, or work on a fully-remote basis?

Cobalt is collaborating with a planning consultancy team based in the North, whose team is part of a wider multidisciplinary. They are in search of at least one Town Planner, ideally at Senior or Principal-level, where you'll have the opportunity to work on renewables, including windfarms, solar, BESS, as well as leisure, commercial and residential applications. This role could suit someone who is experienced at working independently and has a track record in renewables planning already, keen to either work in a more flexible basis, or work with a market-leading energy consent teams.

They are a collaborative and hard-working team who have an excellent reputation, having won awards and with market-leading turnover in some of their niches. With a very active Director and MD, there is a focus on excellent planning work and client-relationships, but less on business development, as they have many ongoing retained clients - so as you progress this will not be a barrier for promotion.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

·Managing a high caseload of applications across sectors and putting in Local Plan representations.

·Maintaining strong relationships with clients in providing accurate advice.

·Dealing with pre-apps, Appeals and Consultation events.

·Communicating and negotiating with clients, stakeholders and local regularly.

Ideally, you should possess:

·Between four and twelve years of experience in planning, preferably within consultancy, although local planning authority (LPA) experience will be considered.

·Ideally some experience in managing renewables applications.

·A strong skill set and expertise in development management and strategic planning.

·MRTPI or close to submitting.

·Excellent written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
